Pastor Michael Khan has been serving as the lead pastor of Newmarket Church of the Nazarene since October 2022. He is deeply committed to faithfully preaching God’s Word and helping people grow as devoted followers of Jesus Christ through intentional discipleship and meaningful community engagement.
He holds a Bachelor of Religious Education (BRE) from Tyndale University, where he was equipped for ministry through both theological study and practical training. His preaching is grounded in Scripture and seeks to clearly communicate biblical truth in a way that is relevant to everyday life.
Pastor Michael is passionate about preaching, discipleship, community outreach, and investing in the next generation. He has a heart for seeing the church actively engage its neighbourhood, creating opportunities for people of all ages—especially youth—to encounter Christ, grow in faith and live out the gospel in tangible ways.
His ministry vision is to be a church that reaches the community, raises up disciples, and reflects the love of Christ in every generation. This vision is rooted in the truth of Colossians 1:28–29: “He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.”
He is married to Lisa and together they share a deep love for the church and a desire to see lives transformed by the grace and holiness of God. Pastor Michael seeks to cultivate a welcoming and Christ-centred church environment where everyone can belong, believe and become all that God has called them to be.
